Scavenger Hunt

2nd Annual Scavenger Hunt Photo Contest

Our second annual "scavenger hunt" took place in August and awards were given out in late September. Participants were allowed no more than 36 consecutive digital photos over a seven-hour period, with no deletions or alterations.

Our judges also selected the photograph they considered to be the "Best in Show," which was in the "Moving Target" category.

Judges. The Skokie Photographic Society is thrilled to acknowledge the services of local professional photographers who will be judging this year's contest:

Karen Kring is a photojournalist, photo editor and media strategist. She studied art and photo history at Northern Illinois University and Salzburg College. Kring has worked for the Associated Press, Catalyst, the Rockford Register Star, Chicago Tribune, Pioneer Press and other Sun-Times publications as well as other news outlets and publishers.

Joel Lerner shoots for Pioneer Press and the Sun-Times Media Group. He co-owns sportpics.com, an internet-based company photographing young athletics in action. His work has appeared in Sports Illustrated, ESPN magazine, Chicago Tribune and numerous other publications. He has previously coordinated the judging of contests for the Illinois Press Photographers' Association.
